I chose a pen, because now that school has started again, writing on paper is something I do everyday. Because of the lack of pencils at home, we all use pens, so it would make sense to include this. The first picture I tried to emphasize the point of the pen, and the cap was obscuring it from the angle I wanted, so I decided to just remove it. Since they are parts of the same object, this would be a single object. The second picture I had to hold the pen above the paper. The marks were originally accidental, as I dropped the pen, and it made a line. I decided to just scribble a bit, and hold the pen over it. I pixelated it, because the ink was kind of splotchy, and the paper was blurry.
I chose to include headphones, because I spend most of my day listening to music, like when doing homework or passing in between classes. They mean a lot to me, because I use them a lot every day, and I enjoy doing so. I took the first picture head on, cups out to capture the shape and to hide the branding. The second picture I took from the side, with the light reflecting onto it from the surface beneath. I rasterized it, to both hide the branding and the glare of the light.
I chose to include a book, because I used to be a very avid reader. Now, since school started, I don't read as much, because of projects and homework. But, books are still important to me, because it's what I did for hours a day. I took the first picture of the book opened, and tried to blur the covering. As I was taking it with my phone, it was hard because I would have to shake it to get it out of focus, and wait for it to refocus on the part I wanted. The second picture I hid the pages, because I wanted to emphasize on the light coming in, so I angled it to reflect the light. I used Color Halftone, to blur out the book title and description, as well as to smooth the border between the spine of the book and the back cover.
